DRIVE Electric For Tesla

This Privacy Policy governs the use of the DRIVE Electric for Tesla wearable device software application (Application) and its companion app for Android mobile devices, created by KlokkProjects.

The application puts owners in direct communication with their Tesla vehicles anytime, anywhere. This Wear OS app is available on the Google Play Store.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

User Information

The Application collects information that you provide when you download and use the Application. User credentials provided are never stored in the Application (except as may be stored by the Remote Start functionality). A token returned by the Tesla authentication server, upon successful login, is passed from the mobile app to the watch app and is used for all communication with the Tesla API. No user credentials will ever be shared with third parties or the developer.

Automatically Collected Information

The Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of wearable device you are using, your wearable device's unique device ID, the IP address of your wearable and phone device, your wearable device operating system and version, the type of wearable browsers you are using, and information about how you use the Application or if the Application fails. This information is sent anonymously to the Google Firebase Crashlytics component. Read their privacy policy here.

Does the application collect real-time location information?

The application may collect information about the location of your wearable device. This information is collected when you use the Summon and Compass feature to calculate the distance between your wearable device and your vehicle. It also retrieves the location of your vehicle as part of the information returned by the Tesla API server. This information is used, among other things, in the Google Maps feature of the application. The application will also request background location permission to scan for your vehicle's BLE beacon when you connect your Tesla key. When the vehicle search is initiated from a Tile, the app is not considered to be in the foreground, hence this permission. For best results, use "Always" to specify that the app should always be able to use this permission in the background.

Does the app collect audio or voice recordings?

This app has voice command capabilities. The wearable microphone is used to capture voice commands if the user allows it. The captured voice recordings are used only by the wearable device's internal speech recognizer, Google Cloud Speech API, or Google Assistant, and will not be stored or shared by the app. This section applies to Wear OS 2.0 only

Do third parties see and/or access information collected by the app?

No. This app will not share information with any third parties, except for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as your continued use will be deemed acceptance of any changes.
